Rockin by the River isn’t just a festival it’s a huge celebration of all that is great about the Irish countryside and a shining spotlight on tourism in Tyrone. This year has 5 action packed days of events, activities and festivities and if you are thinking of going, and you should be, here are 5 things you should think about doing.

1. Sperrin Ramble
The Sperrin Mountains, stretching along the border of counties Tyrone and Derry, can best be described as wild, untouched and beautiful. Walkers can expect undulating hills covered in heather, quiet valleys, boggy uplands and a land teeming with wildlife.

2. Ceili and Old Time Dancing
Brace yourself for a traditional Irish gathering and celebrate it with some good old fashioned old time dancing.

3. Jiving with Johnny Brady
Get inspired to start jiving by watching some great movers in a Jiving competition and then try it for yourself when leading Irish Country Music Artist Johnny Brady takes to the stage

4. Whistlin’ Donkeys
Get ready for a traditional Irish hooli when the Whistling Donkeys take centre stage with their set on Saturday night. Warning *Expect some fact past traditional Irish mucic!*

5. Family Fun Day
Finish of the festival with a bit of fun for all the family at a Family Fun Day. There will be a fancy dress competition, football blitz and lots of other things to keep the kids entertained.
